I think that section of Brooklyn is very Hopper-esque, although its current owners have gentrified much of the brooding industrial tragedy out of its once-gritty parts. For me, those blocks also retain the ghosts of Whitman, the Abolitionist writers, and the starry-eyed exuberance of early Industry.
